The Care Quality Commission (CQC) will be assessing providers on the new Single Assessment Framework which promises to bring about a fundamental shift in the way providers are assessed, ensuring a more efficient and comprehensive evaluation process and a clear focus on quality. One of the new focuses in the Well-led domain is workforce diversity and inclusion ensuring the well being of staff is a priority.
So, what does this new framework mean for healthcare providers? For starters, the single assessment framework will replace the existing approach of multiple frameworks with a single, holistic evaluation process. The key domains remain the same-Is it Safe, Well-Led, Effective, Responsive & Caring?
Organisations should look to engage staff early on which include clear communication channels and workshops to educate and familiarise employees with the new framework.
